The Ohio State Bar Association College, better known simply as the Bar College, is a voluntary program of the Ohio State Bar Association to recognize those attorneys and judges who have exceeded the required hours of continuing legal education each year. All attorney members of the OSBA are eligible to become members.
An OSBA member attorney may become a member of the College by attending 24 hours of CLE in one calendar year and submitting the required Application Form to the OSBA by April 15 the following year. Applications received after April 15 must include a $25 late processing fee and applications will not be accepted after Dec 31.
Once an attorney is a Bar College member, membership is maintained by continuing to attend 24 hours of CLE in a calendar year and submitting the Application Form each year. Attorneys with full-time or employed lawyer policies who submit the Bar College Membership Certificate to OBLIC receive a 15% discount on their liability insurance premium.
If you are an OBLIC policyholder and you haven’t become a Bar College member, you may have received notification from OSBA of your eligibility for this valuable benefit. OBLIC and OSBA are working together to provide added value for OBLIC policyholders. We hope you’ll use this benefit!
