New Software Patches Released to Address Microsoft Vulnerabilities
Post on April 26th, 2022

This month Microsoft released security updates to address approximately 120 vulnerabilities in Windows and various other Microsoft products. The Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (“CISA”) encourages users and administrators to review the updates and apply them as appropriate.

Staying current on security updates is key to protecting you and your firm against cyber-attacks. According to the FBI’s 2021 Internet Crime Report, the exploitation of software vulnerabilities remains among the top three methods that attackers use to gain the access necessary to carry out ransomware attacks.

Check with your IT professionals to confirm that your system has all appropriate security updates installed and that there is a reliable procedure in place for installing new security updates as they are released.

As we have previously advised, Microsoft is retiring Internet Explorer effective June 15, 2022, and replacing it with Microsoft Edge.  Please click here to learn more.
